Case study — Digital growth infrastructure

From scattered marketing to one scalable digital growth system

MEP Koeltechniek had the technical expertise to support businesses across the Netherlands, but lacked a connected digital infrastructure for visibility, lead generation and customer follow-up. Neutrons built a new system in which website development, SEO, analytics, conversion tracking and CRM work together as one whole.

Starting point

A technically strong business held back by a weak digital foundation

MEP Koeltechniek delivers professional refrigeration and freezer solutions for hospitality, supermarkets, hotels, factories and other commercial businesses. A cooling failure can directly cost a restaurant, hotel, supermarket or factory money: spoilage, downtime, operational disruption and lost revenue. Certified technicians are available 24/7 to resolve cooling problems quickly.

So the challenge was not a lack of demand or craftsmanship. The challenge was that the website, marketing, ads, customer data and follow-up process did not operate as one connected system. The digital infrastructure did not reflect the quality and urgency of the service.

The result: the client did too much manually and had too little insight into which activities actually produced valuable inquiries.

The real problem

The problem was not one channel, but the missing connection between all channels

Before the partnership the key components existed, but they stood on their own. There was no reliable system to track leads or clients, no structured acquisition funnel, and no central place where marketing activity and customer follow-up came together.

Reporting

Improving one page or launching another campaign would not solve the full business problem. Without proper tracking and a central workflow, even new leads would mostly create more manual work instead of a scalable operation.

Strategic choice

We didn't choose temporary fixes. We built a new foundation.

The existing website already existed, but improving it would not solve the underlying problems. The old setup offered too little control over the elements that make growth scalable. So Neutrons decided to rebuild the digital foundation from the ground up.

Old setup — too little control over
  • Speed
  • Technical SEO
  • Content architecture
  • Structured data (schema)
  • Conversion tracking
  • Scalability
  • Lead attribution

  • Native website development
  • A new content structure
  • A new SEO plan
  • Proper analytics

Research & strategy

First understand the business. Then build.

The work did not begin with development. Neutrons did not simply ask the client for a service list and disappear into production. The client stayed involved throughout the entire process.

01

Business assessment

We studied the company's services, target customers, current workflow, commercial goals, bottlenecks and growth ambitions.

02

Client meetings

In detailed meetings we gathered information about customer behaviour, service areas, frequent problems, competitors, sales opportunities and operational processes.

03

Market research

We researched the Dutch refrigeration and HVAC search market using Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, Google Search Console, competitor research and manual analysis.

04

Strategic planning

The findings were turned into one roadmap covering website development, SEO, content, tracking, CRM, hosting and reporting.

The growth system

Not a collection of separate services, but one connected growth system

The solution consisted of four layers that connect to each other. Acquisition attracts the right companies, conversion turns visitors into measurable inquiries, data reveals what truly works, and operations enable faster follow-up with less manual work. Together they form one system rather than separate activities.

01

Acquisition

Attract qualified companies actively searching for refrigeration services.

  • Organic visibility
  • Service pages
  • Local landing pages
  • Articles on technical problems
  • Commercial content
  • Google Ads analysis
  • Future acquisition via social media
02

Conversion

Turn visitors into measurable inquiries.

  • Native, fast website pages
  • Clear calls to action
  • Conversion-focused layouts
  • Mobile optimization
  • Clear contact pathways
  • Google Tag Manager events
  • Proper conversion measurement
03

Data & measurement

Understand what really produces business results.

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google Search Console
  • Lead source tracking
  • Conversion events
  • SEO reporting
  • Lead reporting
04

Operations & follow-up

Reduce manual work and improve commercial follow-up.

  • Custom CRM development
  • Centralized lead information
  • Lead statuses
  • Customer tracking
  • Better visibility of follow-up
  • Less administrative work
  • More reliable reporting

Four layers, one system — each layer feeds the next and returns data.

Business infrastructure

The website became business infrastructure, not a digital brochure

The website is not just a visual restyle. Native development gave Neutrons more control over the elements that determine visibility, conversion and scalability.

  • Website performance
  • Semantic page structure
  • Core Web Vitals
  • Technical SEO
  • Schema / structured data
  • Content structure
  • Mobile experience
  • Conversion tracking
  • Future scalability

Search ecosystem

Not loose articles, but a complete search ecosystem

Every page was given a specific role. Commercial pages, local pages and informational articles were deliberately linked into one coherent whole.

Main pages

These pages explain the company, its services and its capabilities.

20+

Service & local landing pages

Landing pages around relevant service-and-location combinations — not copied pages with only a different city name.

40+

Informational SEO content

Articles targeting the real problems and questions of businesses using refrigeration equipment.

  • Cold room alarm not working
  • Freezer room not cooling properly
  • Blast chiller fault
  • Refrigerated counter not cooling properly
  • Cold room temperature calibration
  • Replacing a cold room door seal
  • Natural refrigerants in hospitality
  • Ice machine malfunction

Topic clusters and strategic internal links

Commercial pages, local pages and informational articles were connected through strategic internal links.

  • Build topical authority
  • Help search engines understand the website structure
  • Guide informational visitors toward relevant services
  • Support important commercial pages
  • Improve navigation for users

Local visibility

Local visibility built around the areas where MEP actually works

The company needed to be visible in the areas where its technicians and services are relevant. The strategy was not to create copied pages with only a city name. Each location page communicates relevant services, local context, customer problems, availability, trust, a clear next step and links to relevant technical content.

Operational transformation

From scattered requests and manual work to one central workflow

Before the CRM, requests arrived through different channels, the source of an inquiry was often unclear, and follow-up was handled manually. After the CRM and tracking setup, everything comes together in one process.

Measurability

Growth only became scalable once every important action became measurable

Neutrons connected marketing activity to measurable actions. That allowed the team to decide with evidence instead of guessing.

Results

From around 500 impressions to more than 50,000 per month

Around 300% commercial growth

The client reported approximately 300% commercial or business growth during the partnership.

Larger and recurring customers

The business developed long-term relationships with larger customers in the Netherlands. Greater visibility, better lead handling and improved follow-up supported this commercial development.

Reduced operational workload

Around 80% less manual CRM and marketing work — an operational result, not just a marketing metric.

Partnership model

The key success factor was not only technology, but collaboration

Neutrons did not act as an external supplier that only carried out agreed tasks. Through daily communication, transparent reporting and joint decision-making, a partnership emerged in which both teams worked toward the same commercial goal.

01

Daily communication

The teams regularly discussed questions, opportunities, progress, content, technical changes and operational matters.

02

Weekly updates when needed

Neutrons shared interim results, new opportunities, points of attention and priorities.

03

Monthly reporting

The client received structured reporting on organic visibility, impressions and clicks, keyword development, lead generation, top-performing pages, technical improvements, completed work and the priorities for the next period.

Neutrons does not collect information from a client only to then work silently as a distant supplier. The goal is a strong professional relationship in which Neutrons behaves as an extension of the client's company.
